| As
lifelong residents of St. Tammany Parish, the Reine family
believes that you must be a part
of and give back to the community. As the Reine companies
grew over time, so did this commitment to the industry and the
community. Through diligent work, the Reine family has had many
achievements in the community, accepting the responsibilities
and excelling with appointments to a variety of committee
posts.
George E. Reine, III
Among his many accomplishments,
George has earned the distinction of becoming a Senior
Life National Director with the National
Association of Home Builders (awarded after 30 years
of service). He is a past Board member of the New
Orleans Home Builders Association and a charter
member (and past board member) of the St.
Tammany Home Builders Association. George has been
a member of the Sales and Marketing Council of the National
Home Builders Association, Past Chairman of the
Parade
of Homes for St.
Tammany Home Builders Association, a member of the
Land Development Council of National
Home Builders Association, and a former Board Member
and Past President of Slidell
Chamber of Commerce. In the community at large,
he has been a member of the St. Tammany Parish Liaison
Committee, the Slidell Builder Liaison Committee, Past
Chairman of the United Way, and Past Chairman of the
Boy Scouts of America Fundraising Campaign.
George Reine was among
the builders who went to Washington to obtain the original
charter for the St.
Tammany Home Builders Association. George explains.
“Some of us felt we needed to form our own group
to promote the issues of St. Tammany. We formed our
own Board and put together the first Parade of Homes
for St. Tammany Parish.” Reine was the first National
Director of St.
Tammany’s Home Builders Association and remains
a National Director to this day, 35 years later.
A
lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish, community involvement
has been an important part of Reine’s life as
well. He is a major supporter of the St. Tammany Association
for Retarded Citizens (STARC), St. Tammany Economic
Development Foundation, Wheels Across America (A fundraiser
for spinal cord injury), Miami Project to Cure Paralysis,
the American Diabetes Association, and the American
Heart Association.
Throughout the years,
Reine’s company has continued to embark on a multitude
of endeavors and community service projects. |
